Original keeps the source layout; Stereo downmixes known layouts (LoRo). Advanced holds sample rate, bit depth or MP3 bitrate, the output folder and the Upmix controls. Convert starts only when you press the centre.

Upmix and downmix
Extend estimated Stereo ambience into layouts up to 7.1.4.
Ten output layouts: Quad, 5.0, 5.1 Side, 5.1 Rear, 7.0, 7.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.2 and 7.1.4 (12 channels, WAV/AIFF). Surround, centre and height amounts are adjustable. Known multichannel layouts can also be downmixed to Stereo.

- Channel-based PCM estimated from Stereo. It is not Dolby Atmos objects and not an ADM master.
- LFE stays silent in Upmix; source bass remains in the front channels.
- 18 further reference layouts are listed but disabled in this version.
Results
Every completed export comes with a conversion and QC report.
Each output is re-decoded and checked, and a matching .conversion.json records source, target, renderer, format, rate, channel labels, duration, peak and the QC result. Batch details list every file with its status.

- Cancel keeps finished files; Retry unfinished picks up the rest.

Language and glass shine live in Settings.
Cmd+, opens Settings: Traditional Chinese or English, and a 0–100% glass-shine slider with live preview (75% is the recommended value).

Install
- Download the DMG and open it.
- Drag UTUVO convert into Applications. Python and all non-system dependencies are embedded.
- Open the app normally. App and DMG are signed, Apple notarized and stapled; macOS may ask you to confirm that you downloaded the app.
Caveats
- Preview build. Pricing and other platforms are not announced.
- Ordinary sources are limited to 512 MiB of decoded PCM per file; ADM has its own render budget.
- No loudness normalization, no dither on bit-depth reduction, no LtRt; tags and ADM metadata are not copied.
- Physical surround/height-speaker listening of Upmix output has not been formally validated.

Frequently asked questions
Where did Next go after choosing a format?
Clicking a format leaf advances straight to layout selection. Convert itself is still an explicit press on the centre.
Can FLAC or MP3 do 7.1.4?
No. FLAC is limited to 8 channels and MP3/OGG to mono/stereo; 7.1.4 needs WAV or AIFF.
Is the 7.1.4 Upmix a Dolby Atmos file?
No. It is a 12-channel PCM file with estimated ambience. No Atmos object metadata, ADM master, DD+ JOC, TrueHD Atmos or DTS:X is produced.
Why is LFE silent?
Upmix LFE is silent by design; source bass stays in the fronts. This applies to Upmix only.
What does ADM support cover?
Supported ADM content in BWF/BW64 can be rendered to Stereo, 5.1, 7.1.4 or Binaural (Apple HRTF). The output is ordinary PCM/Vorbis/MP3; no new ADM master is written.
Is this preview Apple notarized?
Yes. Both the app and DMG are Developer ID signed, Apple notarized and stapled. Download the current installer and open the app normally.
